On 28–29 April 2026, Eduardo Bernad and Esther Raga from Fundación Hidrógeno Aragón represented the +C2FUe-LS project at the CO2-based Fuels and Chemicals Conference 2026, organised by nova-Institut GmbH in Cologne, Germany.
The conference brought together leading experts from academia, research organisations and industry to discuss the latest developments in Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU), green hydrogen production and Power-to-X technologies. The event served as an important platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, highlighting innovative solutions aimed at accelerating the transition towards climate-neutral industries and sustainable fuel production.
During the event, the Fundación Hidrógeno Aragón team presented a poster entitled “Modular Cascade Technology for CO₂ Conversion into Synthetic Fuels”. The poster introduced the +C2FUe-LS project’s main objectives, experimental methodology, system design and expected outcomes.
As outlined in the poster, the +C2FUe-LS project puts forward an innovative approach to converting CO₂ into synthetic fuels through modular cascade technology with high energy efficiency, combining catalytic and plasma-assisted technologies with advanced process engineering and integration expertise.

As part of the conference programme, Eduardo Bernad also participated in the poster pitch session, where he presented the project’s objectives and technological approach to an international audience of stakeholders and experts.
The conference provided an opportunity to exchange insights, discuss current challenges, and explore future collaboration within the CCU, green hydrogen and Power-to-X communities. It also enabled the +C2FUe-LS consortium to enhance the project’s international visibility and engage with key stakeholders working on innovative carbon conversion technologies and sustainable fuel solutions.
