From 18 to 20 June 2026, Eduardo Bernad from Fundación Hidrógeno Aragón participated in the International Conference on Catalysis, Chemical Engineering and Technology (CCT 2026) in Barcelona, Spain. The conference brought together researchers and experts from around the world to discuss the latest developments in catalysis, chemical engineering and sustainable technologies.
During the event, Eduardo delivered an oral presentation entitled “Modular conversion of CO₂ into synthetic fuels through plasma and bio-/chemo-catalysis assisted process: Presentation of +C2FUe-LS project”.
The presentation provided an overview of the +C2FUe-LS project, highlighting its vision, objectives and innovative technical approach. Participants had the opportunity to discover how the project aims to develop a modular energy-efficient Power-to-X technology combining plasma, bio-catalysis and chemo-catalysis to convert CO₂, renewable electricity and green hydrogen into renewable fuels and valuable chemical building blocks under mild operating conditions.

The presentation also outlined the project’s multidisciplinary approach, which spans catalyst development, reactor design, process integration and sustainability assessment. By bringing together seven research and technology organisations from across Europe, +C2FUe-LS aims to lay the foundations for more efficient and flexible CO₂ conversion technologies that support the production of sustainable transport fuels and contribute to a circular carbon economy.
Participating in CCT 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to introduce the project to the international scientific community, exchange ideas with experts in catalysis and chemical engineering, and raise awareness of +C2FUe-LS’s innovative approach.
As the project progresses, the consortium looks forward to sharing further developments and contributing to future scientific discussions on innovative Power-to-X solutions.
